24th of July

It is tradition to go to the Bear River City Park on the 24th every year. This year I had my little mini color guard camp join in on the parade!! I was expecting maybe 25 or so girls, I think about 60 or so showed up!!! Is'n't that exciting! I had tears in my eyes at the end of the parade. I was given so many complements on how great the program is doing now and just to watch the parents on the side of the road with their camera and video camera just grinning from ear to ear, waiting to see their daughter march down the street in their very first parade!! THAT is what makes this job all worth it!

Practicing before the parade started.
Brinley working so hard, concentrating!

Taylee remembering the MOVES.

Group photo before we started marching.

Taylee, me & Brinley in our twinner shirts.

After the parade, it is the baby show. It was my first year with out a baby in the show! how sad, not really, I like the stage of life I am in right now. Dax was in the baby show, but before he went on, we were playing on the tractor/trailer to stay occupied. Dac won the bubbliest personality by singing the ABC's in front of everyone! Way to go Dax!

Group photo while watching the races

Brinley running very fast. Look at that little smile. She said this was her favorite part of the day.

Taylee running hard!

Austin running even harder!! We did not win any races this year. That is ok, we are still the champions at the Willard Park!!

They had sack races too. Taylee, Brinley, and Dax all wanted to do it. Dax did not want a sack, he just wanted to RUN! Brinley was hopping just fine until........

She was the only one left, then she started crying! It was the funniest, but cutest thing ever!

Austin told me that he was going to ride a sheep this year at the rodeo! I really did not think he would get on a sheep, but he fooled me. He was just 2 pounds shy of being the limit to ride, so I guess this is his last year to ride. He looks really serious getting on this "bucking" sheep.

AND THERE HE GOES!!!!

He did not stay on too much longer than that picture. He landed on his knee when he fell off and he limped out of the arena! I had to laugh, it was just really funny when he was telling me the story of his ride. I had to take his picture! Isn't he so cute! (i mean handsome)

Later that night, after we ate pizza, we had our own firework show out on the driveway again.
I love my family and I love traditions! Until next year....

Mini Color Guard Camp

I am the Color Guard Advisor at the local high school, and we had our 1st annual Mini Color Guard Camp today!!
This is Brinley and Taylee in their Future Color Guard shirts before we left!

These are my 18 color guard girls this year. They are a wonderful group of girls, who did a great job at the camp. They have been working really hard this summer to get prepared for all our parades and fall shows.

This is Brinley's preschool group. I think they played more games in this group then they practiced, but they are just 3 & 4 years old. How cute!!

Brinley trying really hard to do her "moves"

Good job Sweetie!!

This is Taylee's 2nd grade group. They were taking a break.

Taylee's best friend Breely came. She was so excited to have her there with her.

Taylee performing her dance in front of all the parents.
They had a fun time and it was a big success. We had 81 little girls there at the camp!!
Wow we have come a long ways!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS

This is my handsome huspand!! He just celebrated his birthday yesterday. He went golfing with his friend, John, and then we took him to Maddox for dinner.
I am going to do a little huspand tag::

Name: Chris (christopher legally)

How long have you been together? We met in October of 1995, so almost 13 years.

How long did you date? We dated (steady) for 3 months before we got engaged.

Who eats more? definately him!! He is our vacum cleaner in the fridge. He usually has seconds and then he will eat the left overs (if there is any left). I eat, don't get me wrong, I love to eat, just not as much.

Who said I love you first? You know, I can't remember. I do know that we both agreed that we were in love at the same time.

Who is taller? Chris by about 3 or 4 inches, unless I am wearing my "big" boots then we are about even. (he hates me to wear those boots cause it makes him feel short)

Who sings better? This is tough, cause we both are not very good, so I will say Chris, just because he had choir in high school and college. he said he took it only cause there were cute girls there!

Who is smarter? It depends on what that means. Chris is going to school now (to get more smarts) and I am a teacher, so i must have some smarts, but if it is street smart, it is definatly him.

Who does the laundry? Definatly me!! He washed towels in cold water one day and I told him he was done doing laundry! I might regret that one day!

Who does the dishes? It seems that I always have to, but we make it a joint effert in the whole family.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you look at the bed, then it is me.

Who pays the bills? me, but he is trying to get involoved, but I don't think he really wants to.

Who mows the lawn? me mostly, If I begg and plead and bug him enough, he will do it. He said that he was forced to do too much yardwork as a kid, so he is burnt out, so our yard depends on me, poor yard!! I am going to teach Austin soon.

Who makes dinner? that would be him. I am not much of a cook, and if I work, then he has dinner ready for me when I get home. Who am I kidding, he makes dinner even if I am home!! your awesome dear!!

Who is more stubborn? that is probably me, at least he says I am.

Who kissed who first? I gave him a kiss on the cheek one night when he was leaving my apartment, then he kissed me back, except on the LIPS!!

Who asked who our first? Well this is complicated, I had to give a talk in church in our singles ward, and I made a joke about me not having any dates, so guess who asked me out that night??

When did you know you were in love? It was a weird feeling for both of us. We both had never felt that way before, so it must of been love!!

Who proposed? he did of course, with the ring in his pocket!

Who is more sensitive? I would say me. I am always the first one to cry, but if I cry then I can get him going.

Who has more friends? I know a lot of people, but he does things with his friends a lot more than I do, so I say him.

Who has more siblings? we have the same, we both have 4

Who wears the pants in the family? depends on the situation, but I would like to think I do!!

I love you Chris. I am so proud of you for going back to college and trying to better your education and our family life. I am so glad you came into my life!! love you always and forever!

4th of July

The 4th of July, it is tradition to go the the Willard Park and run the races and sit under the tree and talk and eat!

I was so proud of Taylee, she won 2nd place in the 7 year old girls!! Yeh Tay!
Austin was 1st place in the 10 year old boys!! Awesome Bud!!

Brinley ran and did her best, but all she wanted was cotton candy!!

We left and went to the pool with my sis Jaycee. The girls enjoyed having her there to swim with. thanks for coming sis.

Austin bought a snorkle and mask on our way to the pool. He loved it!! He was demonstrating to me his skills!!

Everyone swimming in the hot sun!

I don't know if chris is going the jump in or not with his nose plugged!! haha!! Brinley would not get out of the pool ! She loves it, she is our little mermaid!

After swimming, we went to my parents house and Jaycee decided to cut Tay's hair!! It was a big secret in the bathroom for a long time, I was not sure that she had any hair left, but look at the results!! She looks beautiful! way to go sis!

After a little cook out, we did our own little firework show. Austin got appointed to be "the lighter". He took this very serious. He sure ran fast once it lit!

Dax, my nephew, wanted to help Austin so bad! So he gave him fireworks and he had a pretend stick to light them. one day Dax, it will be your turn to light the fireworks!

Just us hanging out on the blanket in the driveway

Me and my girls. Happy independence Day everyone!
